"Jade Elevators were awarded a contract to install an electric lift into a state listed heritage item in Millers Point. The existing brick structure could not be used for any fixings due to the soft nature of the bricks and off course the heritage constraints. On side of the shaft was an external wall with fixed glass openings. The lift shaft was also to be used as a light well allowing natural light to enter the building. This also meant that the lift car doors needed to be glass. Finally the glass doors had a double sided opening on the lower ground floor. Jade was able to meet all the client requirements with a fast, quiet electric lift traveling on a self-supporting steel frame and unique custom made single sliding glass doors. The end result is unique and not only satisfied the heritage constraints, it is functional and beautiful without impacting on the heritage look and feel of the building. Not only were they competitive, they accepted the many challenges a heritage projects experience and the end result is without compromise. 18 months on from completion service and maintenance has been on point. I have no hesitation in recommending Jade on future projects."
